Gayatri Yoga is the highest Yoga from India. Gayatri Yoga helps the practitioner conquer
the mind, body and soul. The essential goal of Gayatri Yoga is sitting in the Full Lotus
Posture which is called the Padmasana in Sanskrit or the Seshini Posture in Medu
Netcher/Hieroglyhics and using Japa Mala Rudraksha Beads chant the Mata Gayatri
Mantra 108 times in one sitting while meditating on Her.
Hinduism lost its strong original Feminine Spiritual Base when the Aryans entered India
from the North. Mata Gayatri or Mother Gayatri represents the Soul of Bharat or India. The
Gayatri Mantra is the National Mantra and National Prayer of India. At the age of 7 Hindu
children are required to start saying the Gayatri Mantra daily at least three times a day.
Gayatri Yoga accomplishes the true goal of Yoga which is often misunderstood by the
average westerner whether they are a practitioner of "yoga" or not. According to Patanjali
in his landmark book The Yoga Sustras in speaking specifically about Raja Yoga, the Yoga
of the Mind:
"The restraint of the modifications of the mind - stuff is Yoga."
This means that if you can master a difficult Hatha Yoga posture and your thoughts are
not under your total control, it is not Yoga.
Why is Gayatri Yoga the Highest Yoga?
Yoga, which literally means "Union", is often translated as Union with Spirit or a Higher
Consciousness.
Shiva is the Deva/Spirit of Yoga from where all Yogas flow like the Ganga river that flows
from the top of his head. He is the MahaYogi, the Great Yogi. He is the Destroyer under the
name of Rudra completing the Hindu Trinity of Brahma, the Creator and Vishnu, the
Perserver. The Gayatri Mantra honors all the Hindu Devas. The Gayatri Mantra, which came
out the mouth of Vishnu at the time of Creation, is:
Om
(The Creator)
Bhur, Bhuvu, Suvaha
( of the Physical World, Mental World, and Spirit World)
Tat Savitur Varenyaming
(The Supreme Being where all things come from who should be worshipped)
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
(I meditate on the Light of your Divine Reality)
Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat
(Enlighten my Intellect)
The Gayatri Mantra is the completion of the mantra "Om". While saying the Gayatri Mantra
you should be understanding the meaning of each word.
There are various types of Yogas. Hatha Yoga, the Yoga of body and breath control, is the
most popular Yoga in the West because westerns like to see physical results and
westerners, especially Americans, are the most overweight people in the world and they
like the physical benefits of Hatha Yoga. Some of the other Yogas are:
1. Raja Yoga - The Yoga of the Mind
2. Kundalini Yoga - The Yoga of Internal Energy
3. Jnana Yoga - The Yoga of Knowledge
4. Karma Yoga - The Yoga of Right Action
5. Bhakti Yoga - The Yoga of Devotion
In the Ramayana, the greatest of all the Hindu epics, this question was put to a gathering
of yogis, gurus and other holy men:
"What is the Highest Yoga?"
The answer was Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of Devotion, because in Bhakti Yoga you "unify"
with the Spirit through devotional practices like chanting. You may be accomplished in
doing Hatha Yoga Postures but if you give up your life today, your devotion to the Spirit
matters more than postures you use to do before you passed away. The true Bhakti Yogi
who spends his or her life in devotion to the Supreme Spirit is more than willing to give up
their life if need be. Gayatri Yoga, using the greatest Mantra of India, keeps you in
perpetual devotion of the Creator while increasing your intellect. Many people ask the
Spirit or the Creator for many "thing" but rarely does someone pray to the Creator to help
make them wiser so that they themselves can achieve whatever goal that they strive for.
Gayatri Yoga puts a protective shield around you and increases your psychic powers
called "kriyas" in Sanskrit. The Gayatri may be considered as having three parts:
1. Praise of the Divine Spirit through the Sun. This is why the Hem - Neter Amen - Ra, the
Priests of Amen - Ra at the Temple of the White and Gold Lotus use the Gayatri Mantra.
2. Meditation on the Divine Light of the Sun that comes from the "Hidden" Power of the
Sun.
3. Prayer that asks the Divine Power to make our minds stronger.
The connection between the Yogis of India and the Ancient Priests of Kemet is obvious
when you seriously study both spiritual systems coupled with the fact that India and Africa
where once one land mass.
When the Hem - Neter Amen - Ra chant the Gayatri Mantra they use Berkaru Hesi or
Chanting Beads which are called Rudraksha Beads. Another name for Rudraksha Beads
is the "Tears of Shiva".
The Gayatri Mantra will protect your body, make your intellect shine and improve your
power of speech. When you chant the Gayatri Mantra the atmosphere around you will
become visibly illumined.
At the Temple of the White and Gold Lotus we practice Hatha Yoga to strengthen our
bodies and mind specifically so that when do perform Gayatri Yoga our Full Lotus Posture,
called the "King of Postures", is strong enough so that we can hold our bodies still and
our minds focused. . The other postures that we do must follow the Four Spinal Positions
that constitute the foundation of Hatha Yoga Postures:
1. The Spine must be Stretched
2. The Spine must be Twisted
3. The Spine must be Bent
4. The Spine must be Compressed
Most common exercises people do may stretch, twist or bend the spine but most exercises
do not compress the spine. The spine can be compressed only with the body is upside
down as in the Headstand posture or the Shoulder Stand Posture in Hatha Yoga.

Pranayama or Breathing Exercises, are the most important of any physical exercises

your breath determines how much acid you have in your body and your general overall
health. Have fast your breath dictates how long you will live according to Yogi
Ramaiah, scientist and yogi.

18 Breaths per minute = Live up to 96 years of age
15 Breaths per minute = Live up to 120 years of age
5 Breaths per minute = Live up to 360 years of age
1 Breath per minute = Live up to 1,800 years of age
Believe it or not there are yogis who are over thousands of years old living on this
planet! The most popular is Babaji born in 203.A.C.E who still alive today.
The Gayatri Yoga meditation done a specific way will slow you breath down to 4
