WEP REN PET NEFER- KEMETIC NEW YEAR
CELEBRATION

A Wep Ren Pet Celebration or Kemetic New Year
Celebration
will be held on August 4th, 2007 in Oxford,
Mississippi, Lafayette County led by Sunn - t Rkhty
Amen - Jones. Sunn - t Rkhty Amen - Jones, who has a
doctorate in Languages, speaks, writes and reads Mdw
Netcher fluently, was the first person who suggested
that Africans in America begin celebrating the Wep Ren
Pet. Traditionally, the Agricultural  Kemetic New Year
was celebrated during three natural events

1. During the Summer Solstice - June 21 - 22
2. The Rising of the Hapi/Nile River
3. The Helical Rising of the star Spdt.

Heri Khafra suggested since that some Kemetic
organizations celebrate the Wep Ren Pet when the star
Spdt has its Helical Rising in North America which is on
August 13th every year the Kemet Collective celebrate
the Wep Ren Pet from the Summer Solstice - June 21-22
through August 13th.

When we, as African People, start celebration the
African Kemetic New Year, with our own Calendar, we
will not only known what time it is and be on time, we
will be able to "create" time.

THE 18TH ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO THE AFRICAN ANCESTORS AT CONEY ISLAND, BROOKLYN, NEW YORK JUNE 9, 2007

Coney Island, Brooklyn, a former port for Slave Ships in New York, was the location for the Annual Tribute to the African Ancestors
where Africans from different parts of New York City and other states came to sing, cry and dance for the African Slaves, many of
whom died in the nearby ocean. After casting beautiful flowers and fruits in the water as offerings, the participants walked backwards
back to the boardwalk out of respect not turning their backs on the millions of Africans that suffered so that we can someday be totally
free. Every African should have a Kera or Shrine to their African Ancestors that they salute everyday.
